Consular AffairsWhat can the consular affairs section do for you?
The consular affairs section of the Embassy Sarajevo looks after and protects the interests of Dutch nationals abroad, but this is just one of many tasks of the consular section. Consular duties involve a.o. the issue of Dutch passports and Schengen visas, dealing with nationality queries and issues, taking civic integration examinations and issuing Consular Statements. Assistance to Dutch prisoners abroad is also one of the duties the Netherlands Embassy is tasked with.
On these consular web pages you will find information for nationals requiring a Schengen visa, as well as information on visa fees.
Please note that a Visa Facilitation Agreement is in force between the Schengen countries and Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the purpose of simplifying the visa issuing procedures for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Please consult the
Visa Facilitation Agreement Guidelines first, to determine whether you may apply for a Schengen visa under the terms of this Agreement. Once you have read the ‘guidelines’ to the Agreement and you have concluded that the Visa Facilitation Agreement does not apply to you, then you must observe and meet the requirements that are mentioned on the page
Visas. The pages under
Foreign Nationals coming to the Netherlands provide you with more general information on visa applications. You can find further consular information under
Coming to the Netherlands.
The pages under
Dutch Nationals Abroad contain information on a variety of consular services provided to Dutch nationals.
