2 Exhibition "Srebrenica genocide - the failure of the international community" opened in Potocari

The museum and permanent exhibition "Srebrenica genocide - the failure of the international community", which is part of the common and continuous efforts to preserve the memory of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, was opened on Thursday 9 February at the Potocari Memorial Centre. The museum was opened by representatives of the PMC, Dutch peace organisation PAX, memorial center Westerbork and of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.


On Saturday 3rd December 2016, nearly 40 embassies and over 70 NGOs and Vendors from BiH came together to hold the biggest ever Diplomatic Winter Bazaar in the Mirza Delibasic hall at Skenderija, Sarajevo. The event raised an incredible 130,000KM which will be shared between 9 charities that work with disadvantaged children in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Doboj and the Srebrenica region.

4 Final conference Dutch water mission

Conference organized jointly by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH is held on Friday 27 January at the Parliamentary building of BiH. Purpose of the conference is for the Dutch experts from the Water Authority Riverenland to present their findings and recommendations and for the involved institutions to sign a Letter of Intent for a long term cooperation.

5 International Film Festival Rotterdam Live in Sarajevo

International Film Festival Rotterdam Live program (IFFR Live!) is back for its third edition. Sarajevo Film Festival and Meeting Point Cinema will again join this unique live event simultaneously taking place in 45 cinemas across Europe and Singapore and present to the Sarajevo audiences a selection of three films from the lineup of the 46th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

6 Dutch water experts in BiH to kick off long term cooperation

During a study tour of the representatives of relevant institutions from BiH water sector to the Netherlands in October 2016, it was jointly decided to work on the establishment of a long term cooperation between the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s and the Dutch water sector. Mission of the Water Authority Riverenland in cooperation with the Netherlands Water Partnership started today and will last until Friday 28 January 2017.

8 ‘Further strengthening asylum and migration management in Bosnia and Herzegovina’

CILC’s project ‘Further strengthening asylum and migration management in Bosnia and Herzegovina’, funded by the Netherlands through the MATRA COPROL program with € 650.000, was finalized last week with a conference. Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to BiH Loes Lammerts delivered a speech, which the Embassy shares with you here.

9 BIH top law students attend ICC World Moot Competition and visit judicial institutions in The Hague

In 2015, the Dutch embassy in BIH received a funding request from the Ministry of Justice of BIH and the Law Faculty of the University of Zenica, to support the participation of its students at the ICC World Moot Competition in combination with a study visit to international (criminal) law institutions in The Hague. It was an honor for the Zenica University to be invited, as the only university in BiH, to compete with the best in the area of international criminal law. Last week, Ambassador Kraak met with the students and their academic coaches at their faculty in Zenica.

10 Diplomatic Winter Bazaar Sarajevo on Saturday 3 december

The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar is an annual fund-raising event sponsored and organized through the united effort of the diplomatic and international communities in Bosnia Herzegovina. It is held every year in Sarajevo in early December. Embassies, international organizations and NGOs all gather together to sell national and ethnic food and wares from their respective home countries. Local vendors also offer locally produced food and products. The Bazaar takes place on Saturday 3 December in "Mirza Delibašić" hall in Skenderija center in Sarajevo, from 11:00 until 16:00 hours.
