1 Social housing project in Potocari

Deputy ambassador, Ms. Ellen van Reesch attended the official marking of the start of the construction of the social housing project "Sustainable Srebrenica - social housing and economic reintegration” in Potocari near Srebrenica. This project is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands and implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

2 Quuen's Day reception in Sarajevo

On 25 April the Netherlands Embassy organised a reception on the occassion of the celebration of Queen's birthday. Our friends and partners from the international community and all walks of life in Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered together to drink health to Her Royal Higness.

3 Netherlands Constituency supports BiH Ministry of Finance with amount of Eur 300.000

Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, with support of the Government of the Netherlands organised a training for government civil servants responsible for planing of budgets and investments projects in Sarajevo on 18.04.2013. The same training will be organised in Banjaluka on 26. 04.2013. This training is a part of the project Development of an Integrated, Functional and Transparent Public Investment Management Information System (PIMIS.) Realization of this project is defined in the Agreement about donation between MOFT of BiH and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Netherlands as a part of the Netherlands Constituency.

4 Ambassador participates at "BiH Potato industry - EU perspectives" seminar in Rogatica

On 27 March ambassador Kraak visited municipality Rogatica where he participated at the "BiH Potato industry - EU perspectives" seminar. He also paid a visit to the potato storage facilities whose construction was funded by the Dutch government. "I've seen here very dedicated and capable people who are doing a great job to improve the production of potato's in Rogatica and its surroundings. Modest help of the Dutch Government here has led to outstanding results", ambassador said.

6 Invitation for the live screening of the Abdication and Investiture ceremony on 30 April

2013 is an exceptional year for The Netherlands. In November, the country will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In January, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix announced her decision to end her reign and to abdicate in favor of her son, the Prince of Orange.

7 New working hours of the Consular Department

From 1 March 2013 the working hours of the Consular Department have changed. This department is open for public between 10 AM to 12 AM on Monday and from 9 AM till 12 AM on Wednesday and Friday.

As you all know, in a few days I hope to celebrate my 75th birthday. I am thankful that I have been granted the opportunity to do so in good health. At the end of this year we shall mark the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, an occasion that ushered in a new era in our history. The fact that these two special events coincide led me to decide to relinquish the throne this year. It seems to me to be an appropriate moment to take this step, which I have been considering for some time.
